  • Heart disease. Large group of diseases definitely related to an unhealthy lifestyle.
  • Diabetes. Although it is true that it has a strong genetic component, its development and complications are mainly related to obesity.
  • Cancer. The most frequent and deadly: lung, colon or large intestine and malignant melanoma of the skin are related to tobacco consumption, unhealthy eating and overexposure to sunlight, respectively.
  • Strokes. Like heart disease, stroke in elderly are directly linked to high blood pressure, cigarette use, and obesity.
  • Chronic bronchitis and pulmonary emphysema. Cigarette use is the first cause.
  • Chronic kidney disease. Usually caused by blood pressure and diabetes.
  • Cardiac arrhythmias. Generally caused by arteriosclerosis, related to an unhealthy diet and lack of exercise.
  • Chronic heart failure. Again, caused by unhealthy eating and a sedentary lifestyle.
  • Osteoporosis. Although it is true that the vast majority of cases are a consequence of aging and the loss of protection of female hormones after menopause, they can be rooted in poor diet and lack of physical activity.
  • Arthritis and chronic waist pain. Frequently related to excess weight.
Parkinson disease. Like dementia, Parkinson disease is a degenerative illness that is related to the nervous system and is quite challenging when it comes to curing it.
